Syedna visits President of Tanzania August 2016
His Holiness Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS and a delegation from the Bohra community were received by the President of Tanzania Dr John Magufuli at Ikulu – the State House - Dar-es-Salaam.
President Magufuli held talks with Syedna on a variety of issues in relation to the country and its prosperity and development.
Addressing the Dawoodi Bohra community Dr Magufuli said, “Tanzania is a beautiful country; we have had tangible bilateral ties between our two countries (Tanzania & India). Therefore, I invite you to come and do business with Tanzania because we intend to industrialize our country in the period between 2016/17 and 2020/21 … therefore, you should come and establish industries here.”
The talks were attended by the Chief Sheikh, Mufti Abubakar Zubeir Bin Ali and the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Augustine Mahiga.
Dr Magufuli lauded the Dawoodi Bohra community for its spiritual services and its participation in the nation’s development.
In response, Syedna commended his Tanzanian counterpart for the excellent work he has done since he was elected president and promised that the Bohra community was ready to work together with the government of Tanzania in bringing prosperity to the people.
Syedna handed President Magufuli the community’s donation for the nationwide school desk scheme.
He also gave a contribution to the National Muslim Council of Tanzania, BAKWATA.
