Raja serves notice to be king of the courts

As the new international tennis season approaches with the Australian Open one budding tennis star will almost certainly have all of his senses trained on the skills and techniques of the world’s supreme players. Mustafa Raja has been one of those hard-working and determined youngsters who seemed to have had a racquet in their hand since they were barely able to walk and - with no less than a date at SW19 (Wimbledon) seared into his ambitious young mind - he has been leaving a trail of success across the Indian junior tennis landscape.

His latest success came December 2016 and was reported as follows in the South Indian newspapers:

Mysuru (Mysore) tennis player Mustafa M. Raja won his fifth U-10 All India Tennis Association (AITA) Nationals yesterday at Tennis Temple, Rajajinagar, Bengaluru. Mustafa showed great grit and determination to get the better of Jason M. David of Bengaluru in the finals which Mustafa won in straight sets.

This tournament win concludes Mustafa’s year in which he won 5 AITA U-10 Nationals titles and was runner-up on 4 occasions. He also started playing AITA U-12 tournaments from April this year and has collected 29.5 ranking points thus far. In addition he has won several local tournaments in both the U10 and the U12 categories.
