Nagpur's Sadar Bohra masjid awaits inauguration by Syedna Saifuddin

The 53rd head of the Dawoodi Bohra community, His Holiness Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin is expected to grace the Orange city of Nagpur for a ten day visit commencing from the 5 th of February. Syedna last visited the city in (year) after he was appointed as the heir apparent by his predecessor the late Dr Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin who himself had last visited the city 15 years ago.
During his visit, Syedna Saifuddin TUS will inaugurate the newly rebuilt Dawoodi Bohra masjid in the Sadar area of Nagpur. Later, in the same masjid on the 6 th of February, Syedna Saifuddin will deliver a discourse commemorating the death anniversary of Maulatona Fatema AS , the Prophet Mohammed’s SAW daughter. In the course of the sermon, Syedna is expected to counsel the congregation to remain loyal citizens and contribute fully towards the development of the country. He is expected to emphasise the importance of education, and the duties of a citizen towards the environment and cleanliness. He is also expected to speak of his initiative of upliftment and fostership of the less fortunate and encourage the community members to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Speaking on the arrangements made, Hasnain Shakir, a Public Relations representative for the Nagpur Dawoodi Bohra community said, “This is a momentous occasion for us as we’ve been waiting for many years for His Holiness to come here. The city of Nagpur and the whole of the Vidharbha region is all geared up to play host and receive the blessings of Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin”.
During Syedna Saifuddin’s stay at Nagpur, various community programmes will be held including the conducting of business trade fairs, a visit to MSB Educational Institute and a ceremony of Rasme Saifee (mass marriage). Around 1400 Bohra families who live in Nagpur are expected to welcome Syedna to the city and partake in the programmes. Senior government officials of the State are also expected to meet with Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin and discuss various issues pertaining to the betterment of of the city and its inhabitants.
Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin has travelled to well over a hundred towns and cities in India since he succeeded his revered father as the head of the Dawoodi Bohra community in January 2014. His visits have been prompted by repeated invitations of Dawoodi Bohras residing in those towns and cities, and his own desire to be in the midst of his followers, understand their concerns, and bless them with his guidance and benedictions. In every visit, thousands of his followers have gathered from the neighbouring areas and sometimes even from abroad, just to get a glimpse of him. These visits have enhanced the close bond between Syedna and his followers and have also been the cause of new initiatives for the betterment of the community.
